Candied Nuts

This is all stuff I typically have on hand and they're way better than the overpriced ones at the store. Takes about an hour start to finish and they keep for over a week.

Ingredients

Ingredients (~3 cups)

  • 1 1/2 cups raw cashews
  • 1 1/2 cups raw almonds
  • 1 egg white
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300F and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix sugar, salt, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Whisk egg white until frothy, about 30-45 seconds.
  • Add nuts to egg white and stir to coat.
  • Mix in sugar coating until nuts are evenly covered.
  • Spread nuts in single layer on baking sheet.
  • Bake 25 minutes, stir, then bake 20 more minutes until lightly browned.
  • Cool on baking sheet for 15 minutes.
  • Store in airtight container up to 10 days.

Notes

Nuts will crisp up as they cool.
