Ingredients
- 2 large avocados
- 1 Roma tomato, diced
- 2½ tablespoons red onion, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
- 1 jalapeño, finely chopped (remove seeds for less heat, if desired)
- 1 lime (you’ll need the juice)
- ¼ teaspoon table salt
Prepare the Flavor Base
In a molcajete or a mixing bowl, combine the chopped onion, cilantro, jalapeño, salt, and the juice of 1 lime.
If you don’t have a mortar and pestle, use a fork to crush the ingredients lightly.
Add and Mash the Avocado
Add the chopped avocados to the bowl. Mash them until you achieve your preferred consistency, whether chunky or smooth.
Finish and Serve
Gently fold in the diced tomato.
Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasoning with more salt or lime juice if necessary.
Serve immediately and enjoy.
