Ingredients (~6 servings)
- 1 1/2 lbs large shrimp (peeled, deveined, tail-on)
- 1 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
- 3/4 lemon (juiced)
- 3/4 tsp garlic powder
- 3/4 tsp smoked paprika
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Put the Shrimp on a Paper Towel, Then Season and Pat Them Dry
Heat the air fryer to 400°F and spray the basket with cooking spray.
Using a paper towel, simply wipe off as much of the moisture from the shrimp as possible. If you don’t do this, your shrimp will continue to steam instead of reaching a light crispy texture.
Add the shrimp to a mixing bowl and mix with the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until all shrimp are well coated.
Place the seasoned shrimp in a single layer on the bottom of the air fryer’s basket. If you put too many shrimp into the basket, they will steam as opposed to developing that crunchy texture.
If your air fryer has a small basket size, it may be necessary to work on the shrimp in 2 separate batches.
Air fry for approximately 7 to 8 minutes and flip midway through cooking
The shrimp are finished cooking when they are all pink and white and have an internal temperature of approximately 145°F.
Remove the shrimp from the air fryer and serve right away or the shrimp will turn rubbery if left in the hot air fryer.
