Ingredients (~8 servings)
- 25-30 frozen meatballs (store bought or homemade)
- 1 can (14 oz) whole cranberry sauce
- 1 bottle (12 oz) cocktail sauce
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 2-3 green onions, finely chopped for garnish
Add Meatballs to the Slow Cooker
Use cooking spray to coat the bottom of the slow cooker lightly.
Place frozen meatballs in the slow cooker without having to be thawed first and they will cook evenly when they are frozen.
Prepare the Sauce and Pour it Over the Meatballs
In a large mixing bowl, mix together the cranberry sauce, cocktail sauce, brown sugar, water, and barbecue sauce.
The cranberry sauce may seem chunky at first, but it will become smooth as it heats in the slow cooker.
Once you have mixed all the ingredients together, pour this mixture over the meatballs in the slow cooker so that every meatball is coated.
Cook on LOW for 4-6 Hours or HIGH for 2-3 Hours
Cook on LOW for 4-6 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours if you want them fast.
The meatballs will be complete after they are heated through and the sauce has started to thicken.
If you can, try to give them a little stir at about the halfway mark; however, it is not critical.
Serve with Green Onion Garnish
Serve the meatballs while they are still hot from the slow cooker, garnished with green onion.
The meatballs also make excellent appetizers when served with toothpicks, or over rice as a main meal.
The longer you let the meatballs sit in the sauce, the better the flavor will become, making them a great choice for serving at parties!
