Easy Spinach Dip

By Sam Pierce

Ingredients (~8 servings)

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 3/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 10 oz frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 2 Tbsp minced chives, plus more for garnish
  • Carrot and celery sticks, for serving
  • Blue corn tortilla chips or crackers, for serving
  • French bread or baguette, for serving

Squeeze Out All The Water From The Spinach

This is the most critical part, as you’ll want to thaw the spinach thoroughly and squeeze it out in either clean kitchen towels or paper towels.

You’ll want to get out as much of the water as possible; otherwise, you’ll end up with a thin and watery dip rather than thick and creamy.

Continue squeezing until almost no water comes out when squeezing hard.

Combine The Base Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne.

Stir in the Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce until evenly combined.

The final mixture should be thick and fully combined.

Fold In The Spinach And Chives

Add the drained spinach and chives to the base mixture.

Carefully mix until all the spinach is thoroughly incorporated.

Taste and add salt or pepper if necessary, as spinach tends to dilute the overall flavor of the dip.

Enjoy With Your Favorite Dippers

For garnish, sprinkle additional chives on top before serving.

Serve with a variety of dippers such as carrots, celery, tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced baguette.

This dip stores in the refrigerator for three to four days, and after one hour of resting, the flavor combination is even better.

Easy Spinach Dip

This takes about 15 minutes to throw together. The longest part is just squeezing out all the water from the spinach – which you really need to do or the dip gets watery.
