Ingredients (~6-8 servings)
- 1 (12 count) package Hawaiian dinner rolls
- 1/2 lb sliced ham
- 6 oz Swiss cheese, sliced
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 1 Tbsp poppy seeds
- 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Set Up Casserole Dish and Prepare Rolls
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and coat a 9×13 casserole dish with non-stick spray.
Keep the Hawaiian rolls attached and do not separate them into individual pieces.
Using a serrated knife, cut through the entire package of Hawaiian rolls horizontally so that you have two equal halves, the top and the bottom.
Place the bottom half of the Hawaiian rolls into the prepared casserole dish.
Layering the Ham and Cheese
If desired, heat the slices of ham in the microwave using 50 percent power for about 30 to 45 seconds.
Heating the ham prior to layering in the casserole dish is not necessary but will help distribute heat more evenly throughout all of the ingredients later on.
After the bottom half of the rolls has been placed in the prepared casserole dish, layer all pieces of sliced ham on top of the bottom half of the rolls, and add Swiss cheese slices on top of the ham.
Spread mayonnaise on the face of the top half of the roll and then place the mayo side of the top half of the roll face-down on top of the Swiss cheese layer.
Making the Butter Mixture
The next step is to melt the butter using a small pan or microwave and add it to a medium mixing bowl.
Combine the melted butter with the rest of the ingredients by whisking until completely blended.
Then pour the melted butter mixture evenly over the top of the assembled sliders, cover with aluminum foil, and allow time on the counter for 10 minutes so that the flavors will permeate through all of the ingredients.
Baking Instructions
Bake covered for 20 minutes, then remove the foil covering and bake an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until tops are golden brown.
When the tops of the rolls are slightly firm to touch and the cheese is fully melted when you look through the layers of the rolls, they are ready to serve.
To cut into individual rolls, use a sharp knife and slice through between each roll.
Serve immediately after cutting.
