Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

By Sam Pierce

Ingredients (~9 biscuits)

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup half & half
  • 3 oz cheddar cheese, shredded

Garlic Butter Topping

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp chopped parsley

Preheat the Oven and Combine the Dry Ingredients

Set the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

Using a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper by whisking them together until they are well blended.

Then add the shredded cheese evenly into the dry ingredient mixture.

Combine the Wet Ingredients with the Dough and Create the Dough

Next, pour melted butter and half and half into the dry ingredients.

Mix until the ingredients are just combined; do not continue mixing or the dough will be extremely dense.

The final product should be a sticky but cohesive lump of dough.

Now you can divide the dough into nine equal pieces and mold each piece into a rough disk shape.

Place the disks of dough on a piece of parchment on a baking sheet and keep them about 2 inches apart from each other.

Bake them and Top with Garlic Butter

The biscuits should take approximately 11-12 minutes in the oven or until the tops have risen and are lightly browned.

While they are baking, prepare the garlic butter by mixing the ingredients for the garlic butter together in a small bowl.

When the biscuits are still hot after coming out of the oven, brush the garlic butter mixture on top of the biscuits.

The garlic butter will absorb into the biscuit and give you the flavour that Red Lobster is known for.

Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

These taste exactly like the ones from Red Lobster but you can make them at home in 20 minutes. The garlic butter brush at the end is what makes them addictive.
