Ingredients (~8 servings)
- 25-30 frozen meatballs (store bought or homemade)
- 1 can (14 oz) whole cranberry sauce
- 1 bottle (12 oz) cocktail sauce
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 2-3 green onions, finely chopped for garnish
Add Meatballs to Crockpot
Spray the bottom of your slow cooker lightly with cooking spray.
Add the frozen meatballs to the bottom – they don’t need to be thawed first and will cook evenly from frozen.
Make the Sauce and Pour Over Meatballs
In a large bowl, stir together the cranberry sauce, cocktail sauce, brown sugar, water, and barbecue sauce.
The cranberry sauce might be chunky at first but will break down as it heats.
Pour this mixture over the meatballs in the crockpot; make sure all the meatballs are coated.
Cook on Low Heat for 4-6 Hours
Set your crockpot to LOW and cook for 4-6 hours, or HIGH for 2-3 hours if you’re in a hurry.
The meatballs are done when they’re heated through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
Give them a gentle stir halfway through if you remember, but it’s not critical.
Serve with Green Onion Garnish
Serve warm directly from the crockpot, garnished with chopped green onions.
These work great as appetizers with toothpicks, or you can serve them over rice as a main dish.
The sauce gets better as it sits, so these are perfect for keeping warm during a party.
